Making, Day 250
I went and saw an experimental film tonight, titled Buried, by my friend Casey Koehler. I am always so inspired when artists make work about personal stuff that is difficult to talk about. Casey's piece was about her father who passed away two years ago today and dealing with the grief surrounding his passing and their estranged relationship. Seeing her film reminded me why making art is so important to artists and audiences- to experience life in a different way. Thanks Casey!

Thirsty, Day 147
I unexpectedly had dinner with friends last night after running into them at a grant coaching session. We spoke of our art, teaching and and life in between. I am in a transitional place in my career as an artist/educator so it was nice to speak with someone who is absolutely passionate about what he does. I am feeling thirsty for a change to everything that I have been doing and my approach to doing it. The glass in front of me is full, I just need to take a drink.
