Gerald turned 45 today. It is strange to think that I met him when he was only 30. Where have the last 15 years gone? Today some friends came over and we celebrated with a pot of Gerald's favorite tea. We even used the miss matched tea cups. It was the perfect way to celebrate (in my opinion).
Tea with Dario Robleto, Adam Milner, Yolanda Chichester...wonderful.
Nicolai and I had a lovely tea party today on the kitchen floor. As we sipped and munched we talked about drinking tea together in a far off land with scones and clotted cream after a long day of visiting castles where knights once lived.
One of the best parts about being at Anderson Ranch is the appetite you work up and the pleasure of eating when it is meal time. There is always a person to sit with and have an interesting conversation about art, life, and everything in between.
My husband and I drink tea daily. I have already posted about his daily tea consumption. I joke about his life's purpose is to go from one cup to the next and how he gets there is somewhat inconsequential. Sitting down to have a cup requires us to take a break from the daily grind-this should happen more often then it actually does. Much of the time we drink while we work or read, but to simply just stop and focus on the hot liquid needs to be established into the routine. This is what I did this morning.
My husband is a tea drinker. An obsessive tea drinker. So there are always 3-4 empty cups with tea bags around the house, especially on his desk. I am constantly harassing him about about it. But today I was grateful for the empty cup.
