Eggs and chocolate, Day 333

Numbers are so strange...I am on day # 333 and I only have 33 days left. Happy Easter!

A few small snips, Day 326

My self-healing mat no longer heals itself. I have spent many hours over the years, including today, cutting paper on this surface. It's been well loved.

Roddy, Day 276

I had coffee with my wonderful friend Roddy this morning. He arrived at the coffee shop ahead of me and scoped out a table with the best natural light. I first sat where he is sitting and he took my picture and then we switched so that I could take his. To all the patrons in the coffee shop I am sure we looked a bit strange playing musical chairs, but to us it was just part of the ritual we perform while hanging out together.

Tick tock, Day 273

Today was another day where the hours passed by so quickly and I was left at the end of it feeling a bit anxious about not having taken enough photos. Gerald is sick, so we drove to Walgreens to buy him some cold medicine and I happened to park the car in front of this sign. It made me laugh because it related so well (in my opinion) with yesterday's image.

Performing, Day 267

I have been in bed for the last two days with a spasm in my back. This has limited my picture making for the day. Nicolai and I played on the bed with my camera in hand using the camera as a source for some fun. We laughed and laughed and made the best of the situation.

Long hallways, Day 187

The summer before ninth grade I was in a youth theater company. I had been in quite a few musicals, but this one was probably my favorite. At the age of fifteen I was cast in the musical Hair. I cannot say if this is where my obsession with hair began or if it actually was in utero when my mom saw the musical performed in San Francisco in 1969/70. As a participant in the theater company I was not really into acting, but I LOVED the singing and dancing. I still remember one line I had to say which was..."Loooong hallways." I don't remember the context, but I remember speaking these words. It's funny what our minds remember. So when I see a long hallway I always say the words in my head as if I were speaking them to the audience from the stage.

Reverie, Day 80

I've decided that this project is about being in a state of reverie. Of being lost in my own thoughts but having the opportunity to share them with whomever is interested. It's been a fascinating process and I have communicated with quite a few people who found interest in what I am doing. Recently some friends asked me how I keep up the momentum to continue doing this day after day...now at day 80 it has become a habit, a ritual that I celebrate at the day's end. A way to spend some time with myself and on my artwork; I just make it happen. I am getting ready to go on vacation in another week. There will be no Internet access where I am going, no cell phone, no computer. I will have to make analog posts to my journal and transfer then digitally when I return. I thought about not going, that this project is too important...but then I came to my senses because the blog is not the project, it just is keeping me accountable to myself. So I bought an extra battery and memory card to get me by while I unplug for awhile. I think it will be good for me.

Yellow, Day 79

I returned from California to an explosion of sunflowers in the front and backyard. I am always happy to see their smiling faces because it is a reminder that summer is here and to enjoy it because soon it will be over and the yard will be barren again. I am constantly being reminded to live in the present moment. I remind myself daily and I am still not getting the lesson. Any tips?
