One moment, Day 262
Gerald worked a long day in Denver cleaning up one of our rentals today, so by the time he came home Nicolai and I had eaten dinner, bath time was over, and it was time to get ready for bed. I am looking forward to the time when our crazy work schedule is over and all of the loose ends have been severed; where moments can be strung together and last versus snippets here and there.

The evil empire, Day 219
We drove around the "new" part of Louisville/Superior looking for a place to have coffee before we went to the movies. This part of town is filled with chain restaurants with a few local businesses thrown in the mix. We attempted to go to one of the local coffee shops, only to discover that both have recently gone out of business. Our last resort has turned into the only option....depressing.

Family meal, Day 168

Saturday morning, Day 163
I don't think I would ever want to live in a place, such as a sub-division, where there was nothing within walking distance. Our little town of Lafayette offers so much which makes it a wonderful place to live. Today we walked to Nicolai's music class.

A miracle, Day 143
We managed to drive through New Mexico unscathed, but the bugs on our windshield were not as lucky. But about 15 minutes from our home in Colorado we wound up in the middle of a car accident...also unscathed. While we were stopped at a traffic light a drunk driver hit the car behind us but instead of that car hitting us, the driver managed to swerve his vehicle around us, bump off the curb, and smash into the car directly in front of us. It was very surreal being in the middle of it all and able to drive away without a scratch.

The last sparkler, Day 119
It won't be long now before it will be too cold to comfortably be outside in the evening without many layers of clothing. After dinner we sat in the backyard drinking tea and hanging out as a family after a long week of work. Nicolai and Gerald lit the last sparkler left over from the 4th of July. I am missing summer already.

Hovering, Day 78
I think my family is starting to get tired of my camera always being present. Here I am hovering over my husband while he eats his dinner. The contrast between the white circle of the bowl and our blue table is hard to resist. Not to mention the diagonal line of the green chopsticks and the repeated circle of his arms. I am now one of those photographers who can't just eat a meal in peace, it must be observed and photographed...nothing is sacred anymore or maybe it never was.
