Deep and wide, Day 352

Today was one of those days where I felt like 1/2 the day was crazy and the other 1/2 was calm. The thing that broke the craziness was I received a letter in the mail today from a good friend. It was like a breath of fresh air that made everything a little better, a little more gentle, a little more calm.

Obsession, Day 210

I have an obsession with looking at bare branches against the sky. I am constantly photographing them or thinking about photographing them when I see something that catches my eye. I am not sure where this obsession came from, but I find it interesting because before this project I never thought about them much.

Another journey, Day 207

I rode the bus to my last class today. The light was that golden brown hue that only occurs this time of year. I was in awe once again.

Saturday morning, Day 163

I don't think I would ever want to live in a place, such as a sub-division, where there was nothing within walking distance. Our little town of Lafayette offers so much which makes it a wonderful place to live. Today we walked to Nicolai's music class.

First snow, Day 154

As the first flakes drift from the sky my world quietly settles down and life readjusts itself. Its pace is forced to a shuffle as the wet caresses my cold cheeks and tongue reminding me to look at my surroundings while this transformation is taking place. But this transformation is not just outside of myself, it seeps into my bones making me shiver and quake from excitement waiting for a glimpse of the landscape blanketed under a monochromatic palette.
